PDFM (known in Japan as PAE Design & Facility Management) is an American architecture and engineering firm established in Tokyo in 1955.

Over the years, PDFM has grown into one of the most progressive companies in Japan’s architectural design and facility services sectors.

Leveraging more than 70 years of knowledge and experience in Japan and around the world, and by adopting the latest global practices and expertise, we provide high-quality services to companies operating both domestically and internationally.

Moreover, becoming part of Amentum, a global leader with outstanding technology, knowledge, and talent, has greatly expanded our potential.

We place great importance on thoroughly understanding our clients’ needs and flexibly combining our specialized expertise and services to deliver the best possible solutions.

Today, the combined workforce of Amentum and PDFM numbers over 53,000 employees worldwide, spanning more than 80 countries, including Antarctica.
In addition to architectural and engineering services, PDFM Japan also offers operation and maintenance as well as facility management services.

Our diverse customer base includes government agencies, the U.S. Department of Defense (U.S. Military), and commercial clients.

Welcome to PAE Design and Facility Management’s (PDFM) official website.

Since our founding in Tokyo in 1955, PDFM has always stood out as a trusted American firm and partner committed to delivering exceptional architecture, engineering, and facility services throughout Japan and beyond. Now part of Amentum’s 55,000-strong global network operating in over 80 countries, we remain anchored by the same mission and values that have guided us 8 decades: integrity, quality, and partnership.

What sets PDFM apart is our distinctive business model and our people. Unlike traditional US or Japanese companies, we operate as an agile, dedicated office—one of the only Japan-based American firms providing comprehensive architecture / engineering and operations / maintenance services to U.S. Government clients. Our 150+ team of professionals includes architects, engineers, and facilities experts supporting not only Japanese customers, but also U.S. military bases, foreign embassies, and commercial clients in Japan, throughout the Asia-Pacific region, and beyond.
